Study brief for prospective collection. Scope and recruitment are assessed on request. This listing does not include a completed dataset.

The research question

Which daily circumstances accompany poor reported asthma control or difficulty following treatment?

Proposed design

Prospective symptom and medication diary with periodic validated control measures and optional device data.

Illustrative design: 8- to 12-week diary; setup and recruitment are scoped separately.

Data to collect

  • Breathlessness, wheeze and night waking
  • Reported maintenance and rescue inhaler use
  • Activity limits and potential exposures
  • Care contacts and reported exacerbations

Planned outputs

  • Control and symptom trajectories
  • Reported adherence barriers
  • Diary and device concordance where available

What we confirm with you

We agree the population, sample size, country, collection tools, analysis plan and budget. Collection starts after the required consent, ethics or other permissions and a signed scope are in place.

  • Agree a clinical escalation pathway for severe symptoms
  • Verify any inhaler or peak-flow integration
  • Confirm exacerbations through records when used as clinical endpoints

Clinical records, laboratory results, photographs and device integrations are included only when access, collection quality and permitted use have been verified. Self-reported findings are identified as such.
