Pain and mobility

Chronic pain, sleep and activity

Measure how pain flares, sleep and medication routines shape daily activity.

Study brief for prospective collection. Scope and recruitment are assessed on request. This listing does not include a completed dataset.

The research question

How do pain and sleep vary together, and what do patients change when symptoms worsen?

Proposed design

Condition-defined repeated diary with periodic interference measures and optional activity data.

Illustrative design: 6- to 12-week diary; setup and recruitment are scoped separately.

Data to collect

  • Pain location, severity and interference
  • Sleep quality and fatigue
  • Reported rescue-medication use
  • Activity, missed tasks and coping actions

Planned outputs

  • Pain-flare and recovery patterns
  • Sleep and activity associations
  • Patient-defined burdens and support needs

What we confirm with you

We agree the population, sample size, country, collection tools, analysis plan and budget. Collection starts after the required consent, ethics or other permissions and a signed scope are in place.

  • Define the pain condition and observation window
  • Record concurrent treatments and confounders
  • Agree escalation and medication-related safety handling

Clinical records, laboratory results, photographs and device integrations are included only when access, collection quality and permitted use have been verified. Self-reported findings are identified as such.
