Pain and mobility

Knee osteoarthritis pain and mobility

Follow knee pain, stiffness and difficulty walking or completing everyday tasks.

Study brief for prospective collection. Scope and recruitment are assessed on request. This listing does not include a completed dataset.

The research question

How do pain and function change alongside routine treatment, activity and weight-management efforts?

Proposed design

Observational diary with periodic condition-specific function assessments; steps or performance tests can be added after validation.

Illustrative design: 12-week follow-up; setup and recruitment are scoped separately.

Data to collect

  • Knee pain and stiffness
  • Walking and daily-task difficulty
  • Reported activity and analgesic use
  • Weight measurements with recorded provenance

Planned outputs

  • Pain and function trajectories
  • Reported treatment and activity patterns
  • Within-person variation and missing-data summaries

What we confirm with you

We agree the population, sample size, country, collection tools, analysis plan and budget. Collection starts after the required consent, ethics or other permissions and a signed scope are in place.

  • Confirm osteoarthritis diagnosis and symptom location
  • Check function-scale permissions
  • Do not infer structural joint changes from patient reports

Clinical records, laboratory results, photographs and device integrations are included only when access, collection quality and permitted use have been verified. Self-reported findings are identified as such.
