Migraine attack and recovery diary

Capture attacks, acute treatment and the time it takes to return to everyday activities.

Study brief for prospective collection. Scope and recruitment are assessed on request. This listing does not include a completed dataset.

The research question

How consistently do patients report relief and recovery across separate migraine attacks?

Proposed design

Event-based attack entries plus brief daily checks and an end-of-study questionnaire under an observational protocol.

Illustrative design: 4- to 8-week diary; setup and recruitment are scoped separately.

Data to collect

  • Attack onset and symptom burden
  • Reported acute and preventive treatment
  • Time to reported relief and return to function
  • Recurrence, missed activities and treatment satisfaction

Planned outputs

  • Attack-level longitudinal data
  • Within-person recovery patterns
  • Treatment-experience and missing-entry summaries

What we confirm with you

We agree the population, sample size, country, collection tools, analysis plan and budget. Collection starts after the required consent, ethics or other permissions and a signed scope are in place.

  • Define headache and migraine events consistently
  • Check permissions for any named disability instrument
  • Treat diary events as patient reports unless independently confirmed

Clinical records, laboratory results, photographs and device integrations are included only when access, collection quality and permitted use have been verified. Self-reported findings are identified as such.
